Precise Kits for Personal Buildings

Built by you or a local pro in WEEKS,

not months.

Homebuilt is a collaborative team of designers, engineers, robotics experts, and construction professionals providing robotically-cut kits for Homes, Tiny Homes, and other buildings.  Based in Massachusetts, we ship kits throughout the northern half of the East Coast.  These kits are designed to be easily built by two people without any prior building experience/knowledge, and only using a couple small hand-tools.  The kits can also be very quickly built by local professionals who we can help you pick.

In the case of Tiny Homes on wheels, Homebuilt can also build your home for you and deliver it anywhere in the continental US.

And, for our smaller, off-grid units, we can also provide on-site assembly services at a very modest cost in much of Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.

We've done all the planning so you can focus on the building.

You're in control.

Homebuilt's mission is to put you in control.  This extends beyond using innovation to make you able to build your own home or small building.  It's in the core of our business model.  Large builders, including modular and other prefab home companies, benefit enormously from what's called "just-in-time" purchasing.  Basically, it means locking in pricing early, and on a large and discounted quantity, but then basically paying as they go.  Our technology makes it possible for us to do the same for you.

While it all starts with the structural shell (lumber and plywood), from there you can add any optional kits you'd like - siding, roofing, windows, cabinetry, etc - up to everything you need to start living in your home (including appliances).  But, if you'd prefer to start small (maybe with just the shell, or just the shell and the roofing), that's all you pay for.  Then, a few weeks or even months down the road, you can pick up where you left off.  This allows you to keep your building site free of stuff you don't need right away, and it allows you to spread out costs, or even to pick and choose on the fly what work you want to build yourself or hire someone to do.

Whether you want to go as fast as possible and do all the work yourself, or keep it slow, spread out the costs, and pick-and-chose what you do - you're in control.

Homebuilt Cabin:  Want to become an owner, or just learn more?

The Cabin is currently only available in the northeast of the United States (Virginia to Maine).  If you would like to learn more, including receiving detailed information on specifications and pricing options:

We'll promptly contact you to answer your questions and get you started with the information you need.

Small Gable

Small Gable

Why such a plain name?  There are two reasons:  First, we want to be honest and straight-forward -  beautiful design is of course a supremely important goal for us, but so is simplicity.  Second, this is your kit, your building.  You name it whatever you'd like, and we'd very much appreciate your letting us know what that is!

Beyond the name, the design of this product is made to be clear, precise.  Why is something like this what a child draws when asked to draw a house?  It's not because this is what all the houses around her look like.  If you pay attention, there are very few pure gable houses around - at least not any more.  But the straight gable is historically the wheelhouse of home designs for many cultures and climates.  It sheds snow and rain extremely efficiently.  It allows for a high, open ceiling with few columns or interior walls.  And, as chicken-and-egg as this may be, it just says "home", plain and simple.

The Small Gable kit comes in a variety of configurations, from just the framing to everything including all windows, doors, finishes, lighting, electrical, plumbing, toilet, bath vanity, etc.  You pick what parts of you kit you want us to send you, and when you want them sent.  We'll make sure everything is DIY ready, including pre-drilled holes for screws/nails, numbered/interlocking parts, and a custom, image-based manual for your configuration.
